academic writing
At first, I don't even know what academic writing is. Unexpectedly, the first question that our lecturer asked in our first class is "In your opinion, what is academic writing?". I was flustered to death that I had to use the internet to find the definition of it. Yes, I know. I was not supposed to do that. She asked for my 'opinion'. However, it would be really embarrassing to give such a dumb opinion in our first class. It would not give the class a good impression on me.
Nonetheless, I now enjoy this subject more than I expected. Although it may seems hard and confusing in class, once I did some practices for each topic, I managed to get the grip of it. As for my midterm test, I nearly fail this subject due to many silly mistakes. I had a consultation with our lecturer after she returned the papers. She told me that I have the potential to score in her subject and I could do way better than I did in the test. Hence, I'll make sure to be more careful to not repeat the same mistake.
